Microgaming and Big Time Gaming, an online casino games studio, have announced an agreement that the software provider will deploy the Megaways mechanic across a number of upcoming igaming releases.
Microgaming will work with its independent game studios network in order to integrate Megaways into suitable new gaming titles set for its platform. Shamrock Holmes is the first game to be provided with the Megaways treatment. This game is earmarked for network-wide release in January of next year.
CEO at Microgaming John Coleman commented that Megaways has much succeeded and they were excited to be integrating the mechanic into some of their upcoming games. They’re also delighted to improve their relationship with Big Time Gaming, which are proven innovators, as well as increase their presence on the platform of Microgaming.
In 2016, BTG launched Megaways with the aim of ramping up player engagement in slots via a fast-paced, dynamic gaming experience. The random reel modifier system allows any certain spin to produce an ever-changing number of symbols throughout the reels in order to allow players to have a totally different game experience each time with thousands of ways to win.
CEO at Big Time Gaming Nik Robinson added they were on a mission to bring the Megaways revolution to a larger audience, and they didn’t come much larger than Microgaming. Those guys were industry pioneers and today they are one of the key forces in the gaming world. As ardent slots fans, they’re delighted to be contributing to the Microgaming story.
Last week, Microgaming has also voiced its support for the proposed online gaming regulations of Germany, and asserted commitment to providing players with a solution to make them ready for the new regime.
Germany intends to launch an online slots licensing regime for commercial operators, which introduce a raft of new measures that are designed to minimize gambling-related harm and promote social responsibility.
New directives include a five-second interval between a maximum stake limit, monthly deposit caps, and reel spins, while all online gaming products have to be presented in the German language.
